Visiting Lecturer in Chinese Studies , Regent's University London

We are looking for a Visiting Lecturer in Chinese Studies to teach modules on contemporary Chinese culture, society and business, to start in September 2014. The ability to teach Chinese language in addition to area studies would be an advantage.

You will have a relevant postgraduate degree, experience of delivering seminar-style content courses in English and of designing stimulating seminar materials, integrating new technologies. You will have a sound knowledge of the societies and cultures of the Chinese-speaking regions, an excellent command of the English language, a high level of competency in Mandarin Chinese, and a good knowledge of the UK HE system. You will be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills and a range of delivery techniques and assessment methods in content, and, if appropriate, also in language classes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

You will be joining a team that delivers a newly launched BA programme in International Business and Chinese Studies. You will be committed to the delivery of teaching on Chinese society, culture and history at all levels. If qualified, you will also deliver language teaching in Mandarin Chinese.

Part-time teachers wanted

Little Dragons Mandarin Chinese Language School is looking for part-time teachers who are available in the following cities: Derby, Nottingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Responsible to:Dean of School; Academic Lead in MFL; Subject Leader in Chinese

Job Purpose: To play a role in the delivery of modules, and student supervision in Chinese Language and Cultural Studies on the School’s programmes at undergraduate level.
